had upon the quality of the the fleece before.  I have for many years passed past classed the Ewes;  putting the best in No. 1 flock, second class in No. 2 flock, and rejecting the inferior.  On this occassion the No. 1 flock to my astonishment appeared inferior generally to No. 2 flock, which I can only attribute to its being in ill condition last summer, whereas No. 2 had not been in good condition throughout the season.  This shows plainly that good condition must be continuous to produce good wool.
