or two by the "Indus" which sails on the 6th next month.  He has large stations on the Darling in company with his Brothers, and they are in independent circumstances.

The iniquitious land tax induces me to divide all my land in Victoria amongst my family so that no tax is payable.  I also divided the most of my Railway shares amongst them, so that all my children are provided for in my lifetime.  I am not however altogether a King Lear, as I hold property and stations in Riverina enough for my requirements, which were it not for many relations at home who have claims upon me would be few indeed, as both my wife and myself live very quietly.  My youngest daughter Mrs. Anderson
