Victoria and N.S. Wales, it may save the crops.  From the low price of wool and live stock many of our Squatters especially those who had to buy much of their runs are in difficulties.  The State has the benefit of the price of the land, but the Proprietor has generally had to mortgage, and his produce will not pay the interest on his borrowings, so that his debt accumulates and nothing but a considerable rise in price of wool & stock and good seasons, can save him from insolvency.  I fortunately sold some of my stations three years ago, and any lands I
