My dear Sir William,

It is a long time since I have written to you, and it is longer since I had the pleasure of a letter from you.  I know however that your time is so much taken up day after day that you have little time to spare and that business matters must occupy your time very fully.  I find it as much as I can do in to write my business letters, and in now writing to you I must admit that a matter of business leads me to do so, viz, on the matter of the Land Bill now before your L. Council on which I beg to request your attention to several alterations which I have to suggest.  I feel very strongly on the absurd right of the temporary
