Wellington Parade
26 Sept. 1868

My Dear Sir Wm. Macarthur,

Though I have nothing particular to communicate, I do myself the pleasure of writing a few lines, as I know you will be glad to hear from me.  Since I last wrote we have passed through a period of great depression in the value of stock & wool and we have just providentially escaped a long threatening drought, and we ought all to be grateful for the copious fall of rain which has been general over Riverina and Victoria:  I have not yet heard
