question of "blood" and "selection" discussed by rival breeders.  They tried to drag me into writing on the subject, but knowing it was for interested motives I declined.  Although I lay the greatest stress upon the value of blood, still I think extensive modifications are made by selection.  Your late respected Fathers opinion was (I believe) that in 4 crosses with the pure merino that the progeny was equal or nearly equal to the pure breed.  You have however had much longer experience than he had at the time he gave that opinion and I would attach greater weight to yours.  The question as to the difference between the quality of your pure sheep, and that of the general flock, after half a century's
