the feed, without leaving any water on the surface. We have been able to retire from the wells, and we hope to have a good lambing.
On the country lower down towards the junction of the Murray & Murrimbidgee rivers there has been scarcely any rain, and the stock are dying from sheer starvation.
I am truly sorry for Sir Chas. and Lady Darling, I hope the former may not lose his claim to a pension. I feel satisfied that if he had not written the very intemperate dispatch expressing his dislike and distrust of the opposition ex Members of the Executive that he should have been allowed to remain and that we should have compromised the differences between the two houses, as we he had actually done before he was recalled.
