My dear Sir Wm. Macarthur,

You will be glad to hear that I have managed to bring my stock safely through the long drought;  we had 24 hours rain in January which freshened up the feed especially the salt bush, and the stock are reported to be now improving in condition.  But while I managed to keep my stock all upon the run several of my neighbours with water frontages had to remove theirs to the hills.  They fed down their frontages
