My dear Sir Wm. Macarthur,

Allow me to wish you many happy returns of the Season.  I hope to hear soon of the safe arrival of your Brother & his family, to whom be kind enough to offer my best wishes.

My object in writing to you at this time is to say that I have seen Mr. Duncan MacIntyre (whom I have known for many years past) who has just returned from an exploratory trip from the Darling to the Gulf of Carpentaria, on which
