and sound advice from him as he & his Brother have been the earliest settlers on the lower Murray & Darling.  Mr. Hugh Jamieson is a very old friend and I am sure he will give me his best advice & most candid opinion.  

He wrote to me a few months ago to say that he had to camp out 14 days outside of the floods on his return from Mount Murchieson to the Murray, yet during these heavy and most unprecedented floods there has been a dry season on the lower Murray & Darling.

Five years ago I went to look at a run on the "north west bend" about 60 miles from the Burra
