since I came to Victoria.  When I went in New Zealand about 5 years ago, I purchased 2000 Ewes from Mr. McLean at 30/ cash, without seeing them, and left them with him on terms for 5 years.  As the term expires next Sept, I asked Mr. McLean to make me an offer, for the sheep, which he did and which I accepted, viz 25/ per head, now increased to 6992, at 6 months = £8740.  I have simply taken his acceptance for the amount without any security whatever.  In fact I had really no security during the 5 years he held my stock, except his honor & integrity.  I mention the particulars to show you that my confidence was well placed.  And
