that there are considerable tracts of the country in question vacant or available, I think it would be worth your while to send out a good bushman with a couple of men to explore & define by rough survey the position of any country that they might find, but if you can get reliable information from the Chief Commissioner it would save time, trouble, & expense. I know it is difficult to get a man well qualified for the task, and at present I do not know of any that wd suit.
There is no doubt about there being plenty of country lying to the west of the Darling unoccupied but the distance in the way of carriage &c wd. make the runs less profitable, if you had to go far west as I fear you would. But much
