I desire to write also in confidence.  A particular friend of mine a large stockholder in the Darling lately paid a visit to Sydney, and on his return he told me that from what he heard at the Crown Lands occupation office there, that many of the runs applied for by Messrs Glass, Ligar &c &c were not properly defined and that they were likely to be thrown into the market by the Govt.  I intended to "go in" for some of them myself.  Glass, and Ligar I believe applied for enormous blocks amounting to several millions of acres and they have been selling them right & left in Melbourne.  Now I wd. have no compunction in ousting them if I could.  I would therefore advise you to ascertain
