My Dear Sir Wm. Mcarthur,

I had great pleasure in the receipt of your kind letter of the 8th Inst.  I noticed your arrival and intended to have written to you congratulating your arrival.  I am also glad to find that your Brother & family are to return so soon.

I am truly sorry to hear such bad accounts of the state of the agriculturists on the Camden Estate, and of the heavy losses that you have sustained through them.  It is however one of the dispensations of Providence over which we have have no control, and upon which
