to a subject they do not understand & in wh. they take so little interest, glad too, to absent themselves from a debate whilst on the subjects they are obliged to attend, that cursed ultra radical set in the House wd. have carried Lushington's motion for the prosecution of Capt. Robisons Court Martial, but I see by the names, the Naval & Military rallied & it was rejected - To those with whom I am acquainted I wd. not enter into details but I stated his character & his connection with D L - who being a [indecipherable] & an anti slavery man, is deep in with them I am [indecipherable] at the whole affairs of the Colony cd. have been gone into I shd have wished it had been carried - but that is
