ab.t 300 there are nearly 3000 souls here & their consumption is about 9 to 10 tons of flour weekly & if they cd get it of meat about a ton & a half - sugar ab.t 3/4 of a ton, & I believe can pay for it; for wages for Labourers are 5/ a day & Mechanics from that to 10/- Surveyers & good Carpenters earning that the latter. - Up to this time about 120,000£ worth of property has been imported by Settlers in this Colony & land granted in that proportion at 1/6 P acre with many of the most objectionable conditions taken off or modified    This I supported & strongly urged successfully on the L.t Gov.r & I
