i have just unpacked a large case of Ferns &c from Miss Taylor Madeira, about 150 plants, for the most part in fair condition and I think will grow.  I intend to keep them together for a week or two before being planted in the fernery that I might watch them a little closer.  I will also this week get the plants & cuttings ready to send to Miss Taylor such as I mentioned in my last letter, we are still getting the weather very cold so that things in general have not advanced much tho' I am glad to say we do not get much frost, but on Easter day a heavy fall of snow
