I fear you have expected to hear from me before this, the delay I trust you will excuse.  I was anxious to collect what matter I could on various subjects to communicate at one, in the first instance I thought you would be glad to know about the plants sent off from Portugal. these arrive safe yesterday bulbs in good order, cuttings doubtful. I also have learned from Mr Smith of Kew that a case of plants are expected from Sydney a portion of its contents are for Sir Geo, on arrival Mr S. will let me know and I will go the
