nick of time.  The clouds seem to have been themselves out & for the last four days we have had few showers & very warm [indecipherable].  Haymaking has begun & it seems likely to be well [indecipherable], while the cereals that seemed washed out, are [indecipherable] up [indecipherable] & promises to give [indecipherable] below the average.  Thus there seems to be "balm in Gilead.  What wd. have been the result [indecipherable] & politically if that wretched weather had [indecipherable] who can say, wide spread poverty & misery during election time & a [indecipherable] Election must of necessity soon come on, would [indecipherable] had but one result I think
