two cases of Orchids packed into sawdust, something in number over 50.  They are all good plants & carefully packed for I saw this done myself.  Lincoln's people saw them on board & he obtained a distinct promise that they should be placed in the position he directed.  I do trust that these lots may arrive in good order.  I shall otherwise despair of ever transmitting their [indecipherable] cattle successfully.
