In myself, I have exhausted all my [indecipherable] of regret & can only that I admire your most wonderful equanimity, & still more your perseverance & further that I will do all I possibly can to second Green in his renewed attempts.  I observe all you say about your model case & you may depend upon your instructions being followed.  I have not done much in [indecipherable] plants since I have been in the Peninsula.  I mean [indecipherable] indigenous plants for with the exception of the gardens of Cintra, I have not seen anything worthy of the name since I entered this painfully unadorned region, not that both Portugal & Spain are not both wonderfully rich in these [indecipherable], but all
