Ley's Orchids were dispatched the St. Osyth, a large new steamer which started for Melbourne on the 2nd of this month.

I rather stupidly sent you the Bill of Lading & list of the Orchids by the Torres Straits mail

Poor Hooker has lost his life.  He fell down dead suddenly [indecipherable].  It is supposed from the bursting of an aneurysmal tumor.  It is in many ways a frightful loss to [indecipherable] from [indecipherable]
