I have barely time to write even the shortest notes to those who have a right to expect to hear form me, so I will ask you to kindly apologise to dear Elizabeth & Arthur for my apparent neglect of them.  Tell Arthur I got his kind letter last mail & that I will write him a long letter next month.  I have not seen his [indecipherable] yet but expect to do so tomorrow.  By the way, tell him that
