ship) pulled in at Melbourne to discharge her load of sick and wounded, but the Wharf Labourers refused to unload her as it was "their holiday". Accordingly the ship went on to Sydney. On another occasion a train load of returned sick and wounded men were held up for some hours while to allow a "race train" to pass through; and these are the patriotic countrymen for whom we have fought[ing]. These are the people who will share the honour and glory which is the property, solely of those who paid for it with their unselfish lives.
