This clearly illustrates the hardships men are likely to encounter even  €“ in France. If a man becomes dangerously ill on a long march, he stands a splendid chance of interviewing his Maker before medical aid arrives. At 3 p.m. this afternoon in company with Lieut. Pollock I lorry-hopped to the town of Catillon.
Finding nothing of interest there we returned the same way. We saw only the same story of desolation and ruin.
