TOMA
21st September 1914

To - Major Martin:

I arrived at Toma 10-40 p.m. tonight, and 10 wagons (x) are broken down (shafts broken, etc.) within the last 5 miles.  Have no guard with them, so would like Motor Lorry as early as possible.

The late Governor has informed me that 40 Troops have landed here from Wilhelmshafen, who do not know that peace has been declared.  He does not know their whereabouts, but thinks they are making for Toma.  Do you think it is advisable for me to go beyond Toma before these troops have been located?

(Sgd.) V.H.B. Sampson, Lieut.
O.C. Escort.

(x) Wagons contain ammunition and some wireless plant.
