Your Excellency.

I have to acknowledge the receipt of your note requesting an interview with the Officer Commanding the British Troops at Herbertshohe tomorrow morning at 11.a.m. with a view of arranging terms of surrender.

The production of this note will pass you and one officer through the British Outposts and you will enjoy safe conduct to our Head Quarters.
