18th Mr. Pember Geldard & I spent nearly all of today working in the garden. He pointed out the large monkey tree which is alleged to be the largest in the whole of England. Miss Edwards came along this evening and she & I played bridge against Mr. Pember & Geldard. The most enjoyable game of bridge I have ever had. Miss Edwards is a very charming young woman.
