THIRD AUSTRALIAN DIVISION
Divisional Headquarters,
6th January, 1918.

My Dear Marks,

Very many thanks for your New Year card, and for the good wishes of the old hands of the 13th. Battalion.-
I was very pleased indeed to learn that you have, yourself, got right to the top of the tree and are now in command of
the Battalion with which you have served so long and which has received such renown.

Please give my kindest regards to all those in the Battalion who may remember me.

Yours sincerely,

John Monash.
(Gen.)
