It was rather broad & vague but was well thrashed out, both in the set part of the debate between Clerke & another & me with a supporter, & also particularly in the public part of the debate. One of the speakers there was a labour member of parliament from Tasmania.
This time Clerke spoke exceedingly logically compared with the previous time, but still gave us plenty of dramatical and passionate gesture. At the same time one cannot but admire his power to absolutely compel the attention of the audience, his ready gift of speech, & the wealth of
