who preserved on his countenance an expression of placid simplicity. His centre of gravity was, I think in his feet, which were abnormally large & flat.
I was much amused the other day to hear him relating to Hassan - a staid old boy who should have passed such frivolities - what I mean sure was a ribald story of some sort, my Arabian ear was not skilled enough to pick up more than the barest outline, but the climax of the story came when the heroine presented someone with twins!
Anyway it all sounds grand in Arabic.
