"Oh - er - you came over with the first contingent"?
ME. "Yes sir".
M.G.: "But did you get on the Peninsular?"
ME: "Yes sir
M.G.: "You went there with Col Sutherland?"
ME: "Yes sir"
M.G.: "And - er - did your health stick to you all right
ME: "Yes sir with the exception of dysentery on the Peninsular I have been all right".
After which burst of eloquence I took a long breath.
He replied "Ah well you got
