[May 15, 1918]

I am still out on the lines we managed to get them fixed & back to H.Q about 4 AM. It is the first time I have been going for about 10 hours. We got to our cellar & laid down about 4.30 & we were up again about 8.30 AM after breakfast we had a new line to make, at least we examined & mended the line till 12 noon & after dinner we laid a new line which kept us going till 6.30 PM, we had a few narrow escapes with shells which have shaken me a lot, I just felt done. I had a wash & a shave & at 8. PM we fixed up some wire which we took up the line. Got back about 10. PM & as there was nothing to do we turned in properly laid[?].
