5 pm.  33 Bn with the 34th Bn in support and the 12th Lancers carried out an attack and established a line east of Lancer Wood in the direction of AUBERCOURT.  The attack was entirely succcessful and brilliantly executed.  Work of the 12th Lancers was magnificient.  Our casualties were as follows :-

9.30 pm.  18th Div. relieved 34th and 33rd Bns on line captured during the afternoon.  35th Bn relieved troops of the 61st Div. on a line running approx, from V.1 d 2.3 to P.28 d 2.6.  33rd and 34th Bns returned to billets in CACHY.

5.30 am.  All reliefs completed.
3.30 pm. Message received Bosh in HANGARD.
4.15.pm.  61st Div. ordered Bde to be ready to move at a moments notice. This order anticipated and acted upon, at 4.5 pm.
4.30 pm. 35th Bn reported all quiet on their front.

2.30 am.  Command of the 61st Div. sector passed to 18th Div.  9th A.I.Bde now under orders of 18th Div.  resuming the role of counter-attack Bde for action in the event of the enemy penetrating any portion of the line held by the 18th Div; that is, from the River LUCE on the south near HANGARD to the VILLERS-BRETONNEUX-WARFUSSEE-ABANCOURT ROAD 1000 yds west of the latter place. 35th Bn was now disposed with three Coy. forming a line of posts between MARCELGAVE and WARFUSSEE-ABANCOURT, 1000 yds west of both villages, one Coy being in reserve at VILLERS-BRETONNEUX.  8 Vickers Guns were attached to the 35th Bn, 4 Vickers Guns in reserve at VILLERS-BRETONNEUX and 4 more ordered to relieve Canadian M.G.Corps during the night. 35th Bn now covered by 8 - 18 pounder Bties, 3 - 4.5 Hows. 2 - 9.2 Hows. 10 - 6" Hows. and a 6"Gun.  During the evening  VILLERS-BRETONNEUX and CACHY subjected to heavy enemy shelling.  One enemy observation baloon brought down by shell fire.

9 am.  G.O.C. visited B.H.Q., C.R.A. and 35th Bn with regard to a new switch line covering GENTELLES and CACHY from attack from a S.E. direction.
1.30 pm.  G.O.C. and B.M. consulted C.O's at church, CACHY in connection with the construction of a switch line and a change in dispositions of the 35th Bn. 35th BN ordered to put 4th Co into line in order to give each of 4 Coys. its own defence in depth.  33rd Bn ordered to
