9 pm 33rd Bn took over the offensive sector front from the 38th Bn as per Bde Order 60. New sector extended from Westminster Avenue to Annscroft Avenue. 11th Bde relieved 9th Bde in LE TOUQUET sector. Bde H.Q. moved to NEIPPE, 34th and 35th Bns to bivouac in PLOEGSTEERT WOOD. 36th Bn to NIEPPE.

9 pm 34th Bn relieved the 33rd Bn in the front line. The latter moved to NIEPPE as per Bde Order 61. 36th Bn moved into bivouac in PLOEGSTEERT WOOD.

Intense bombardment of enemy positions by our Artillery and Trench Mortars. Vigorous patrolling. Our Aircraft extremely active. Bde on our left raided. Our patrols very daring, found wire greatly damaged.

1.45 am. 33rd Bn raided enemy lines at V.15d 86.50 as per Bde Order 62. 1 German killed. No. 2 Special Coy. R.E. bombarded enemy line with 4 inch Stokes Gas Shells as per Bde Order 63. Our mortars co-operated.
9 pm 35th Bn relieved 34th Bn in the front line as per Bde Order 64. 34th Bn moved to "B" bivouac in Wood.
10.35 Bde on right discharged Gas on enemy.

Bde concentrated in billets round NIEPPE and rested prior to the offensive.

6pm Bde moved into Battle H.Q. PLOEGSTEERT WOOD. During the period that the Bde was in the offensive sector personnel was employed on the construction of C.T's, Assembly Trenches, Dumps, Headquarters etc. All assaulting Bns held line where later to attack. Approach routes taped out and policed. Water dumps made in forward area. Casualties were heavy during the first six days of the month and were as follows :- Off O/R Total
