certainly call on them all though whilst I am over there & of course I am awfully gentlemanly and nice to them - so much so in fact that they think I'm a wowser too - which I am not. By these remarks I dont wish to convey to you the impression that Bob is an old reprobate but at least he asks a chap if he's got a thirst when he visits him and he knows a good brand of cigars. I also believe he would say "Dash" if he became really annoyed. All this diversion on your relatives is not meant to be rude or personal and of course is strictly confidential. Don't you let the Mater make an extract of this & send it on to one of them. I know the Mater's playful little ways in that direction.
I am of course looking forward to seeing young Fred very keenly. I have already written to him strafeing him severly for cabling you for money (Ida told me of this) This sort of thing only causes you quite unnecessary worry and I have a hundred or more sovereigns lying idle in my paybook, obtainable within an hour so. I've forbidden him to repeat such cabling. Today I received a note thanking me for the trouncing I administered & requesting a tenner till the result of his cable eventuates. When I go over I shall make thorough enquiries into his mode of living & what he wants money so badly for. Also I shall find out what his present job is exactly and what his future position is likely to be. I've not been exactly satisfied lately regarding him. I shall let you know
