Well Mater dear I suppose you are waiting to hear all about my recent trip to England. There's not much to tell because it was much the same as previous trips I've had - just a whirl of theatres dances dinners suppers motor drives afternoon teas & other cheery entertainments. I was invited to 5 balls but only went to two. I'll tell you the reason. The second one I went to was on the invitation of Lady Mond at her house in Knightsbridge. After galivanting around the universe for 3 years in a heavy pair of military jack boots one feels rather like an elephant in a glass-house when one suddenly finds oneself in a ballroom.
