a good dentist to have it fixed up for me. Though the poor kid must have suffered much pain he's quite cheery and isnt complaining a bit. Apart from these two items he is first rate. He was along today for some more socks & a new pair of leggings. He had just received a letter from Fred which he was very proud of and which he gave to me to read. It was the first letter he has received from Fred since he came over, owing to his moving from his old unit. Fred wrote his letter just after he had received one from me telling of Syd's excellent behavior during his first taste of battle. Of course Fred was full of congratulations and eulogistic references to the Boy and you should have seen young Syd's eyes glisten when he
