hospitally. He asked me to call on him again and let him know my arrangements as he said he wished to have a share in entertaining me if it could be fitted in. At Thorpe Bay I was warmly welcomed and treated like an Earl by all - Bob Louie & Eric. Fred arrived next day & we had quite a merry time. In fact as Bob had expected me for Christmas & had been disappointed he arranged a special Xmas dinner on my a/c - turkey plum pudding and all the necessary extras including the "bubbly water". We stayed down there till Sunday 21st and during those 2½ days we had a very merry time. After lunch on Sunday we went half way up the line & got out at Charlie Feast's station. We called on Charlie, had a yarn & some tea & then on to London where we spent the next couple of days together (Fred & I). I took him round a bit & I think he enjoyed
