hit London which happy event materialised about 10 a.m. on 18 Jan.  I called at Cox's Bank to get my "shoregoing kit" which was stored there, drew a few shillings to kick off with, had a brush up and thereupon pinned my ears back for a good time.  And I didnt disappoint myself, believe me.  First off, I went round and said goodday to Bob and arranged to go down to Thorpe Bay with him at 5 p.m that evening.  Then wired Fred & suggested that he endeavour to obtain a couple of days leave & come along to Bob's place.  Then I went & called on some friends whom I had met on my former visit & took them to the Savoy to luncheon.  Later called on Mr Willmott, manager of Lloyds Bank to whom I had a letter of introduction from our Brigadier.  Mr Willmott proved to be a most estimable gentleman and received me most
