One of the chaps at my mess, "McCullock turns out to be one of the chaps who played against me in the football days. He played with Sydney He recognised me, although I did not connect him with the McCullock who used to play. He is some player, one of the best. Strange to say he knew a little about Lancefield, our old home, as his Grand dad came from there. The 11th of 4th were complimented this morning on having turned out the best guard yet on board ship. We held it up till this morning. When you get the next photograph of yours truly, you will probably not recognise him. We are all growing a covering on the upper lip until we get ashore. I think I will retain the stripes when we land, as I was told last night that I was in orders. I am sending you a few cards enclosed in this letter and will send
